macbeth

cuz and i went to see macbeth, the opera, tonight. it was only so-so. i took a long nap for most of the 2nd half. appomatox was a lot better. everyone raved about macbeth's voice (he was played by thomas hampson). i thought it was ok, but i couldnt get over the fact that he was kinda short. so the whole time (i was awake) i thought macbeth was just acting out his napoleon complex.

and while i adore shakespeare, macbeth is one of the stories i like the least. and the poetry of WS's prose gets lost when you sing it in italian. weird huh? on the bright side, the guy who played malcom, song of the murdered king duncan of scotland, was H-O-T.

in other news, hey you gets the worst day award. but she might deserve it. after her car died on her today, she texted me to let me know (while i was at the opera). i called her when the show was over, in case she needed to vent. (i was trying to be nice!) left a message, saying i was just saying hi and that she was probably already asleep, and that we could chat tomorrow. i get a text back a bit later says "not sleeping, in the shower. i know foreign to you." mean right? especially i since i had showered this afternoon cos i wanted to be presentable for the opera. on the other hand, i was pretty impressed she had managed to spell "foreign" correctly.

cuz and i are back to our workaholic ways. we're both logging on tonight. bleetch.
